Ruchiyana Turmeric Powder
Turmeric is the boiled, dried, cleaned and cultured rhizomes of the Curcuma longa. The plant is an herbaceous perennial, 60 to 90 cm high, with a small stem and a tufted leaf. The number of different varieties of the Turmeric is majorly segregated on the basis of the creating area in India where they are grown. How Turmeric Powder is prepared?
The fingers and rhizomes of the turmeric are heated or cooked separately for about 30 - 40 minutes while waiting for the bubbles and the white fumes to come out, then they are drained and are dried up in the presence of sun rays for about 10 to 15 days, till the time they get dry and hard. The dry turmeric is then cleared and polished automatically in a drum which is rotated with the help of a hand or by any kind of power to make it into powder form.
